MIDTERM MADNESS

Stonybrook PTSA honored 120 seventh grade students and 85 8th grade students last week. These students earned all As, Bs, and Cs on their midterm reports for the fourth nine weeks. Students received pizza, drinks, snacks and played bingo for prizes. Students who have maintained all As, Bs, and Cs since midterms were also entered into a drawing for gift cards, a camera, and cash. Staff and students were very excited about the event and the PTSA did a wonderful job supporting the hard work of Stonybrook students.
Twenty-two Stony
brook student council members accompanied Mrs. Pam Griffin, principal, to the Statehouse this week to participate in the 14th Annual Holocaust Observance and Youth Summit. The guest speaker was Mrs. Shachar, from the Ghetto Fighters' House Museum; she traveled all the way from Israel for the event. Students toured the Statehouse and learned more about the Holocaust and those who were affected by the event.
